Terms for Ordering
Terms for Ordering from Greek On Wheels
These terms apply when you place a food order through this website.
1. Who you are ordering from
You are ordering from Greek On Wheels ("we", "us"), at 3 Hawthorne Ave, Ottawa, ON, K1S 0A9.
We trade as Greek On Wheels. If you need the registered name of the business behind this storefront for a formal purpose, ask us using the contact details below and we will give it to you.
The ordering software is provided by Order Eat Repeat Ltd. ("the ordering platform"), which is a separate company. The ordering platform is not the seller. It does not prepare, sell, or deliver food, it is not a party to your order, and it does not take your money. Your contract for food is with us alone. Questions about your order, your food, or a refund come to us.
2. Placing an order
When you place an order you are making an offer to buy. Your order is accepted when we confirm it — usually within a few minutes, when our kitchen accepts it. Until then, we may decline it, for example if an item has run out, if we are unexpectedly closed, or if we cannot deliver to your address.
Before you place your order you can see and change everything in it: the items, the quantities, your contact details, the service (pickup or delivery), the time, and every line of the price. Please check that page carefully — that is your opportunity to correct any errors before you commit.
If we decline your order, we will tell you, and you will not be charged. See section 5 for what happens to any card hold.
3. Prices, taxes and fees
Prices are shown in Canadian dollars. The order summary itemises the subtotal, any discount, any delivery fee, any tip you choose, and the taxes that apply, before you commit to the order.
The total shown at that point is the total you pay us. We do not add charges after you order.
Tips are optional and go to us. You may set any tip to zero.
4. Pickup, delivery and timing
Times are estimates, not guarantees. Kitchen times, traffic and weather all move them. If your order is going to be significantly late, contact us.
For delivery, you are responsible for giving an accurate address and for being reachable on the phone number you give. If we cannot deliver because the address is wrong or nobody can be reached, we may not be able to offer a refund for food that has already been made and sent.
For pickup, please collect your order within a reasonable time of the time we give you.
5. Paying, and what a card hold means
Where you pay online, your card details are entered directly with a payment processor. Neither we nor the ordering platform ever receives or stores your card number.
When you pay online, the amount is normally held on your card when you order and taken when we accept the order.
⚠️ If we decline your order, the hold on your card is released, but not always immediately. With the payment processor used by this restaurant, a declined order's hold is released by letting the authorization expire rather than by cancelling it. Depending on your card issuer that can take about 7 days (Visa) or up to 30 days (Mastercard). No money is ever taken — the amount stops being held and returns to your available balance. If it is still showing after that, contact your card issuer, and tell us as well.
Where you pay in cash or by card on delivery or collection, you pay us directly at that point.
6. Cancellations, refunds and problems with your order
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection law, and nothing in them is intended to. Food is prepared to order, so an order cannot always be cancelled once the kitchen has accepted it — but that is a practical limit, not a waiver of your rights.
If something is wrong with your order — items missing, the wrong items, food that is not of acceptable quality — contact us as soon as you can and we will put it right. Depending on what went wrong, that may mean remaking the order, a partial refund, or a full refund.
If you cannot reach us, or we cannot resolve it between us, you can raise the matter with the consumer protection authority in your province.
7. Allergies, intolerances and what our menu does and does not tell you
Please read this section if you have a food allergy.
Where a dish on our menu shows an allergen line, that line is our own declaration of which of the 14 main allergens the dish contains or may contain. An allergen line is written by us, the restaurant, and we are responsible for it. It reflects what we last entered; recipes and suppliers change. The ordering platform shows what we enter; it does not check it, and it does not prepare or handle your food.
The 14 main allergens are the ones named in UK and European Union food law: cereals containing gluten (wheat, spelt, khorasan wheat, rye, barley and oats), crustaceans, eggs, fish, peanuts, soybeans, milk, tree nuts (almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, cashews, pecan nuts, Brazil nuts, pistachio nuts and macadamia nuts), celery, mustard, sesame seeds, sulphur dioxide and sulphites, lupin, and molluscs. This is not a complete list of every ingredient in a dish, and it is not the list of priority allergens set by the food law of the country you are ordering in, which may differ. For example, pine nuts are not among the 14.
A line saying a dish contains none of the 14 main allergens says nothing about any other ingredient, and other ingredients can cause reactions too. A "may contain" line is our warning that an allergen may get into the dish while it is prepared. A line saying allergen information is not provided, or no line at all, means we have not declared that dish's allergens, or those of a choice you added to it, on this website: it does not mean the dish contains none of them.
Any other dietary or ingredient labels on our menu, such as "vegetarian" or "spicy", are written by us as free text. They are not certified, and they may be incomplete or out of date.
The "Allergies, special requests" box at checkout sends a free-text note to our kitchen along with your order. It is passed on as written. It is not a structured allergy record, it does not trigger any automatic check in the ordering software, and nothing in the system verifies that a note has been read or acted on.
⚠️ If you have a food allergy or intolerance, and above all a severe or life-threatening one, do not rely on the allergen lines, the menu labels or the notes box alone. Contact us directly before ordering so we can tell you what we can and cannot prepare for you. Our kitchen may handle allergens and ingredients that are not shown on a dish's line, cross-contact between dishes can occur, and we cannot guarantee that any dish contains no trace of a particular allergen.
8. Using this website
Please do not misuse this website — no attempts to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to it, and no placing orders you do not intend to pay for or collect. We may decline to serve you if you do.
Menu photographs are illustrative. Actual dishes may differ in presentation.
9. Your personal information
How we handle your personal information is described in our Privacy Notice, which forms part of these terms.
10. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. The version that applies to your order is the version published when you placed it. Every version keeps its own permanent link, so the terms you agreed to can always be produced.
